"Cameron Judd is the voice of the Appalachian frontier. The danger, the beauty, the love of freedom, and the adventure of taming a land all echo through his wonderful stories. Boone is Judd at his best, and that is very good indeed." – Sharyn McCrumb

"Judd is a keen observer of the human heart as well as a fine action writer." – Publishers Weekly (for Timber Creek)

"Carefully researched historical novel offering a much less mythological profile of the remarkable Tennessean . . . (with an) abundance of historical detail, it is a heartfelt attempt to glimpse the soul of an American hero. By any standard, Judd succeeds." – Wes Lukowsky, Booklist (for Crockett of Tennessee)

"This stirring tribute to the unsung heroes of a fierce mountain campaign will leave readers eagerly anticipating the next two installments in Judd's Mountain War trilogy." – Margaret Flanagan, Booklist (for the Shadow Warriors)

"Brilliant characterizations . . . The classically suspenseful, neatly ironic ending is flawless. – Publishers Weekly (for Jerusalem Camp)

"Judd writes a mean story." --Zane Grey's West (for Timber Creek)
